Meeting Location, Time & Schedule

Council and Committee of the Whole meetings are held in Council Chambers, City Office and have a standard start time of 7 p.m.

Meetings are aired over CFYT Radio 106.9, live on Dawson City TV Channel 12, and through ZOOM (meeting ID and passcode can be found at the top of each meeting agenda).  Towards the end of each regular meeting, both Council and Committee of the Whole hold a question period. This provides an opportunity for the public to ask questions of Council or Committee of the Whole.

Meetings Open to the Public
Pursuant to the Municipal Act, all Council and Committee of the Whole meetings are open to the public except in certain cases when Council or Committee of the Whole closes a meeting to the public for a discussion on matter as authorized by section 213(3) of the Municipal Act.

Appearing Before Council
Members of the public are welcome to make a presentation to Council by attending as a delegate to any regular meeting of Council.  These presentations are called "delegations" and are an opportunity for you to:

  • provide input regarding issues being discussed by Council,
  • introduce a topic that you feel strongly about, or 
  • make a request of Council.
Persons wishing to make a presentation at the Council meeting may do so by notifying the CAO Office of the request, including the subject of the presentation, no later than 4 p.m. on the 3rd business day prior to the meeting.  Should you have any written information to submit, we ask that it also be submitted by 4  p.m. on the 3rd business day prior to the meeting.
