Utilities

The municipality provides a community water and wastewater system.  Water and wastewater base rates, as set out in the Fees and Charges Bylaw, relate to the continuous availability of the services. Base rates apply for the full year invoiced (January 1st to December 31st), including such periods as services may be disconnected.

The municipality also provides a community waste management and diversion program.  Waste management and diversion rates, as set out in the Fees and Charges Bylawwere established to offset the cost of the waste management and diversion program.

Water and Sewer
Privately owned residential properties connected to the water and sewer infrastructure are invoiced in four quarterly installments. Quarterly installments are due as follows:

  • February 15th 
  • May 15th 
  • August 15th, and 
  • November 15th

Commercial residential and non-residential accounts will be invoiced annually and are due for payment on August 31st.

A 10% Penalty will be applied to all unpaid accounts after their respective due dates.

Water Delivery
Eligible properties are invoiced for water delivery in twelve monthly installments. Invoices will be issued during the last week of each month for service to be provided the following month. Monthly installments are due the 15th day of the service month.

Waste Management and Diversion
Non-government properties, which are invoiced quarterly with water and sewer, are due as follows:

  • February 15th 
  • May 15th 
  • August 15th, and 
  • November 15th

Government accounts, which are invoiced annually, are due within 30 days of receipt of invoice.

Commercial and all other accounts, which are invoiced annually, are due on August 31.

A 10% Penalty will be applied to all unpaid accounts after their respective due dates.

Senior Discount
Senior citizens aged 60 years or older shall be entitled to a discount for water, sewer and water delivery, as set out in the Fees and Charges Bylaw, subject to:

  • the account being current, and 
  • proof of age being provided, and 
  • the senior citizen being both the registered owner and the occupant of the property.

Payment Options for Utilities
Please note, utilities cannot be paid using credit card. Utilities can be paid by cash, cheque or debit.
