Road Closure Schedule and Information

We do expect further road closures to allow for the safe and efficient progress of our projects this summer. We understand and apologize for the inconvenience during these essential works and thank all our residents and visitors for your patience.

We held valuable public meetings with the business community and residents in Dawson on March 7th and are finalizing our traffic and parking plans based on the input received. We will provide further information on all the closures below as soon as it is available, though all our communications tools.

Current Closures

Our only closure at this time is Turner Street between 5th and 7th. We expect this to continue until the end of the summer when our new pumphouse is commissioned.

We have closed 2nd Avenue between King and York for just a short time while we address some final matters with our new lift station that require a safe and fenced excavation site. We expect to open this road again very soon.

Expected Closures

1.     5th Avenue between Turner and Dugas Streets

From after the Gold Show weekend (May 21) for several months while our new pumphouse is connected to the water reservoirs. This closure will extend into the west side alley between Turner and Dugas.

This closure will be for vehicles and pedestrians.

2.     5th Avenue between Princess and Harper Streets

This closure is expected to be for vehicles only. Dates to be determined subject to final contractor work plan.

3.     Craig Street from 5th to the 9th Avenue Trailhead

This closure is for vehicles only and we expect the work to be completed in segments such that one of the 7th or 8th Avenue intersections with Craig will always be open to allow the free flow of traffic into the east side residential streets. Dates to be determined subject to final contractor work plan.

Further road closures of Turner Street and 3rd Avenue in the North End could be seen subject to project funding and the final contractor work plans.
