Fire Protection Services

Fire protection services are provided by the Dawson City Fire Department.

The department is under the direction of Fire Chief Jim Regimbal and all other members are volunteers.  The volunteers are organized as follows:

  • 1 Deputy Fire Chief
  • 1 Senior Captain
  • 5 Captains
  • 25 Firefighters (maximum contingent)

The department is proud to have representation from a large cross section of the community and to be an equal opportunity organization.

Tradition and Commitment
Currently, our most senior volunteer members have served over 35 years with the department.  There have been over thirty legacy members who have served over 20 years with us as volunteer firefighters.  Our average tenure at this time is approximately 15 years.

Mission Statement
The sole mission of the Dawson City Fire Department is to promote and deliver life safety by providing efficient, professional, high quality, cost effective and timely productive services including fire suppresion, fire prevention, disaster response managment, public safety education and code enforcement.
