Quigley Landfill
The City of Dawson waste management facility is located on the Klondike Highway approximately 10km from downtown Dawson.   The facility offers waste disposal, composting and recycling options as well as a Freestore.


Recycling  
The Conservation Klondike Society (CKS) operates two recycling centres; one is located in downtown Dawson at 1067 2nd Avenue and the other is located at the Quigley Landfill. 

The Landfill centre offers refunds from spring to fall. During winter the centre is still set up for self sorting of recycling and donations, however no refunds will be issued. Refunds are available all year round at the downtown location..

Composting
A community compost is available at the landfill. Compost bins are located in the following three locations; bottom of Dome Road, Recreation Centre Parking Lot, and Dredge Pond Subdivision.

Composting can divert up to 50% of waste from the landfill. Please note — ONLY compostable (not biodegradable) bags can go in the compost.

What can you put in the community compost?            
Food scraps, teabags, coffee filters, soiled paper products like pizza boxes and napkins, waxed cartons, yard waste, sawdust etc.

What can you NOT put in community compost?
Toilet paper, pet feces, cigarettes, carcasses, glass, plastic etc
